A typical Portland Holiday will include your chosen accommodation, return
flights, plus a transfer to & from your resort hotel in an air conditioned
coach, except transfers in the Maldives and on holidays when a car makes up part
of your package.
Your flights will be in a standard seat on the aircraft. If you wish to
guarantee that your party sit together during the flights, require in flight
meals or want extra leg room, than this can be arranged (subject to
availability) at an additional charge. In 2008 the standard charge for an
inflight meal on a Portland Holiday for European destinations is £20 per adult
for a meal on both out & inbound flights.
If your flight is with Thomsonfly, then you can also book extra legroom seats at
an additional cost of £30 per person on short haul flights & £60 for long haul
passengers. Very limited number of seats are available with extra leg
room, so book early to avoid disappointment.
Each adult passenger on a Portland Holiday receives a total of 25Kg baggage
allowance. The maximum that can be checked in the aircrafts hold is 20Kg
per passenger with the remaining 5Kg as hand luggage. You can actually
carry 10Kg maximum into the cabin as hand luggage, but you must reduce your
checked in luggage so that your total baggage allowance does not exceed 25Kg per
adult passenger. If you have booked a premium seat then your total baggage
allowance is increased to 30Kg. The airlines that Portland Holidays use
are very strict on the baggage allowances and will charge you a very expensive
excess baggage fee at the departure airport before issuing you with your
boarding cards, so think about your carbon footprint & only keep within your
limits and don't fall into the baggage trap.
You will also have the use of a resort or hotel rep, who will be provided by
either Thomson Holidays or First Choice and they will invite you to a meeting
within the first 24 hours of your arrival to brief you on the hotel, resort,
things to see & things to keep away from. It's not all about selling
trips. 30 minutes invested here could save you hours on your holiday!
