We have been on plenty of holidays with Portland Holidays over the years and have been very satisfied with the service and value for money that Portland has offered us.  My only complaint is to do with the merger of First Choice with the Portland parent company, TUI.  Previously, when we booked a Portland Holiday, all the flights were with Thomsonfly and we were able to book extra legroom seats for the flights.

Unfortunately, our flights to Madeira were with First Choice airlines and this option to book extra legroom seats wasn't available on the Portland website.  When we phoned the customer services to attempt to purchase the seats with extra legroom, we were informed that this could not be done at present, so be warned.  If your over 5' 10" and want to have extra leg room make sure your flight is with Thomsonfly & not First Choice Airlines.  You can tell from the Portland Holidays site, as all Thomsonfly flights show as TOM & First Choice Airlines show as FCA during the booking process.

Always traveled with Portland/Thompsons and found the holidays to be accurately described & at fair prices.

We were loyal First Choice customers for many years & we hope that the merger isn't going to lead to a lower standard of service across First Choice & Thomson?  Only time will tell if the standards slip.

Never been on a holiday with Portland Holidays before, but their prices seem pretty good compared to the other companies and good flight times as well.  So this year were going to go with Portland Direct for the first time to Tenerife.  Lets hope that this is the first of many holidays with Portland, assuming they can stay competitive in this crowded market.
